On October 12, it was suddenly announced via the official TWICE Twitter that member Nayeon's hit summer solo album 'IM NAYEON' was being released as a vinyl record on November 18.
This was a pleasant surprise to fans as with TWICE's vast discography, there have so far been no vinyl LP album releases to date. Pre-orders instantly opened via the exclusive US outlets of Target and the US-based TWICE Shop websites.
As stated by the TWICE Shop, inclusions are "a Stunning Gatefold Jacket, Printed Inner Sleeve and Exclusive Folded Poster."
Within 15 minutes of the tweet going out, the limited edition pink vinyl Target version was sold out with all pre-orders taken. Within 30 minutes, the TWICE Shop black vinyl allocation was gone.
While Target ships to the US only, global fans are awaiting news if their TWICE Shop pre-orders that did make it in time will be canceled. This recently happened with signed Between 1&2 album copies that were resold exclusively to US fans, thanks to the US-focused JYPE collaboration record deal with Universal Music Group.
With the instantaneous sell-out nature of TWICE on vinyl, fans on Reddit are already asking when other TWICE albums will be released in the format, if they will release the existing discography and if international fans will be able to buy.
not a fan of vinyl but they are a nice way of showing your favorite album when displayed properly. Anyway I am just glad photocards wasn't included since vinyls actually require MORE materials to make vs albums and we all know just how much K-pop fans LOVE to buy stuff in bulk just to grab the random goods and throw the rest out,
