MBC cancels its dramas and variety shows for the time being

MBC canceled its dramas and variety shows out of respect for the national mourning period. 

On October 31st, MBC announced its dramas and variety shows will be canceled for the time being. Instead of dramas and variety shows, MBC will be broadcasting special news coverage of the recent tragedy. 

MBC also postponed the premiere of its new show. Its upcoming variety show 'No.1 Teacher', which was originally scheduled to premiere on November 2nd, will be premiering on November 9th. 

Meanwhile, the Itaewon tragedy was recorded as the worst crowd surge accident in the history of Korea.
