On July 1, YG Entertainment announced that Yang Min Suk, the younger brother of former head producer Yang Hyun Suk, has returned to the position of CEO. Yang Min Suk will now manage YG Entertainment as co-CEO with Hwang Bo Kyung.
Previously, Yang Min Suk resigned as CEO of YG Entertainment on June 20, 2019, as a responsibility measure for controversies involving Yang Hyun Suk and his illegal gambling scandal, former Big Bang member Seungri and the 'Burning Sun' gate, etc.
Now, upon his return as co-CEO, Yang Min Suk will make efforts to secure steady promotions for YG Entertainment's artists, reinforce global partnerships, and strengthen the label's competitive strategy.
YG Entertainment artists, including BLACKPINK, iKON, and TREASURE, plan to embark on global tours in the second half of 2022, returning to normalcy post COVID-19.
