BTS's V turned 26 on December 30, and congratulatory messages and best wishes poured in from fans as well as known personalities working in various fields. South Korean Grammy award-winning soprano, Sumi Jo, gave V a special gift in the form of a cover of his recently released jazzy winter song, 'Snow Flower.'
Sumi Jo is a highly awarded coloratura soprano who enjoys massive popularity in South Korea and overseas. Along with a Grammy award, she is also an academy award nominee, recipient of Order of the Italian Star, and decorated with South Korea's Order of Cultural Merit. BTS army were elated to see her express her affection for the music of fellow Order of Cultural merit awardee, BTS member V.
Sumi Jo gushed over V's warm and sweet vocals in 'Snow Flower' in her tweet and expressed that the song is just to her taste and that it made her Christmas even more special!
She later promised fans that she would gift V with a cover of 'Snow Flower' and even shared a video of herself practicing it on the piano, leaving fans excited and eagerly anticipating the cover.
Sumi Jo posted the cover of 'Snow Flower' on the occasion of V's birthday on her official YouTube channel. Not only fans of V, but even Sumi's fans were overjoyed at hearing her beautiful voice.
'Snow Flower' featuring Peakboy, was released on 25th December. V expressed his gratitude for medical workers and other Frontline workers who risked their lives to save others during the COVID-19 pandemic through the song by addressing them as 'white angels.' The song was received well by audiences and continues to chart high and win fans and celebrities' hearts like the legendary Sumi Jo!
