BTS’s V’s first solo soundtrack “SweetNight” has been on a momentous record-breaking spree since its official release on last Friday. Earlier today, the OST has added another prominent achievement to the collection.
The soul-stirring ballad written, produced, and sung by V himself has dethroned BTS’s latest single “ON” to become the longest-charting Korean song to reign on the US iTunes chart.
“Sweet Night” has unfalteringly stood at #1 for 120 consecutive hours (and counting) shattering the record set by “ON” who held the record for 107 hours.
V currently holds the record as the first and only Korean soloist to conquer the reputed chart for five days in a row. Additionally, V’s “Sweet Night” is the first and only Korean OST to debut at #1 on the chart as well.
While BTS as a group is no stranger to numerous “first-ever” historical records, it is astounding to see V dominate the music industry with his first self produced soundtrack.
