BTS's success with their latest album Map Of The Soul: 7 continues as the album debuted on top of the Oricon Monthly Chart for the month of February 2020. This is their third time topping the monthly album chart, following Love Yourself: Her in September 2017, and Face Yourself in March 2018.
To make the feat more impressive, the gap between BTS and the second place, Japanese boy band Sexy Zone, is over 200,000 units, cementing BTS's position as one of the best selling artists today in Japan.
Recently, the album became their first Korean album to be certified Platinum by the RIAJ. The album dropped down three spots (to #4) this week, having sold 20,296 copies in its second week. Map of the Soul: 7 currently has sold 398,148 copies so far in Japan, and is currently the best selling album in Japan so far this year.
