BTS set new boundaries again as their most recent studio album Map of the Soul: 7 debutes at number one of the German album chart.
The German album chart is determined by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) and is published each friday.
As of February 2020 BTS is the only Korean artist to place albums in the German album chart. Love Yourself: Her became the first to enter the chart in 2017 at position 57. Map of the Soul: Persona gave the group their first top five entry in the country and now they got the pole position. Love Yourself Tear, Answer and Mots: Persona re-entered the chart.
Love Yourself: Her #57 for 1 Week
Love Yourself: Tear #17 for ... Weeks
Love Yourself: Answer #23 for ... Weeks
Map of the Soul: Persona #3 for ... Weeks
BTS World #7 for 7 Weeks
Map of the Soul: 7 #1 for ... Weeks
Note: Total Weeks, no album spent more than a week on it's peak position.
Both singles from the album also hit the charts: "Black Swan" on no. 77 and "On" debuted at no. 36, the highest charting position for any Korean group in the country. Psy's "Gangnam Style" is the only higher charting song by a Korean artist; it peaked at no. one 2012.
BTS will perform in Germany's third biggest stadium, the Olympic stadium in Berlin on July 11 and 12 as part of their Map of the Soul Tour.

I can't recall any group making the impact that BTS is. Not just in KPop, I mean ANY group. They have a number one album in seven European countries alone, that's insane. Congratulations, Kings! 👑
