Group BTS has swept the Gaon Album Chart of the first half of the year with the album "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA".
According to the Album Chart of the first half of 2019 announced on July 12 by Gaon - Korea's official music chart, BTS's album "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" topped the rankings for accumulated album sales in the first half of 2019.
This album occupied the first position with an overwhelming number of albums sales of 3,499,980 copies from the release date of April 12 to June, and is holding the record of the highest number of albums sold in one day. Earlier, this album was once certificated Triple Million for the first time in the album category of Gaon certification when hitting 3.22 million albums sold after only 19 days of release.
In addition, "BTS WORLD OST" - the album released on June 28 featuring the vocal participation and production of BTS - recorded 498,455 copies sold in just 3 days and ranked second in the volume of album sales.
Accordingly, BTS simultaneously occupied the No.1 and No.2 positions on Gaon Album Chart of the first half of year with two albums "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" and BTS WORLD OST".
BTS will continue the tour "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF" - JAPAN EDITION at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa, Japan on July 13 and 14.
