Mnet's'Produce x 101' has reportedly asked labels to review trainees more thoroughly after Yoon Seo Bin's controversy.
On May 8, an insider revealed, "Mnet's 'Produce x 101' producers requested labels to check the backgrounds and personal lives of the trainees once more." Former JYP Entertainment and 'Produce x 101' trainee Yoon Seo Bin was allegedly uncovered as a bully and underage drinker and smoker during his high school years, which caused controversy among viewers and netizens.
Another insider stated, "The producers asking for a check into their personal lives means they're requesting responsibility when a controversy erupts. Honestly, it's tough for the agencies to know if there were any problems in trainees' personal lives if they don't come clean themselves. The producers' concerns are understandable. The agencies don't want their trainees to undergo controversy either."
As a 'Produce x 101' trainee who reached the top 12, Yoon Seo Bin had gathered a good amount of popularity, and now many are looking into the pasts of his competitors as well.
