J.Y. Park announced his plans for JYP's Japanese girl group.
On February 7, J.Y. Park held a press conference to announce the 'Nizi Project.' According to the founder of JYP Entertainment, the agency will be teaming up with Sony Music for 'Nizi Project,' a program showing the creation of their new Japanese girl group.
Applications will open in May 2019. The auditions will take place in July and August at 8 cities in Japan (Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Okinawa), and in 2 cities in the United States (Los Angeles and Honolulu).
A total of 20 candidates will be selected for 6-month training. Their audition and training process will be aired in a reality show format in October 2019. The number of final members is not yet confirmed, but they are set to be announced in April 2020 and the group is scheduled to debut around November 2020.
J.Y. Park explained the 'Nizi Project' aims to search for talents of various colors and make "a group like a rainbow" emitting a beautiful light.
They'll debut with only 6 months of training? I guess the standards for Jpop are different, PD48 showed us that.
