Park Shin Hye opened up about her role in her upcoming tvN drama, 'Memories of The Alhambra'.
In 'Memories of The Alhambra', Park Shin Hye plays a young woman who came to Spain with dreams of becoming a guitarist, Jung Hee Joo. However, due to financial strains, Hee Joo is unable to devote herself to her dream, instead busily running a hostel to support herself and her family.
As portions of the drama was filmed in Granada, Spain, Park Shin Hye revealed, "Hee Joo runs a hostel in Granada, so she has Spanish lines here and there. I wanted to portray those scenes as naturally as possible so I studied some Spanish. I also read a book on The Alhambra palace to prepare for my scenes as a guide there."
Also for her role, Park Shin Hye had to learn the famous guitar track "Memories of The Alhambra", one of Hee Joo's favorite songs to play on the guitar. "I felt pressured since the song is very famous, and also difficult. I thought that practice, practice, practice was the only way. I devoted myself to practice, but I struggled with playing tremolo (trembling effect). I slowed the music down to try to match the tempo," the actress explained.
Finally, Park Shin Hye shared, "'Memories of The Alhambra' is a fast-paced story centered around a mysterious event, and contains action scenes to captivate the eyes and the hears, as well as heart-fluttering romance. It's a production anyone can enjoy, so please show your love and anticipation."
The drama will premiere on tvN this December 1 at 9 PM KST.
