According to the Korea Internet Corporations Association's research, the most preferred music streaming platform among Korean netizens is none other than YouTube.
Recently, the Korea Internet Corporations Association released its 'Mobile Service Usage Conduct Report'. The report surveyed 739 music listeners of all ages. Among those surveyed, 43% chose YouTube as their #1 app for listening to music on their mobile device. Melon came in 2nd place with 28.1%, followed by Genie Music and Naver Music in 3rd and 4th place respectively.
Among the survey participants, only users in their 20s' preferred Melon over YouTube. Participants under 20, as well as participants in their 40s' and 50s', preferred YouTube with a drastic difference from other music platforms, while among participants in their 30s', there was just a small difference between YouTube and Melon users.
YouTube was also voted as the most preferred app for mobile video streaming, with Naver Video and Oksusu coming in 2nd and 3rd place.
