Son Seok Hee mentioned IU's memorable award speech at the 'Golden Disc Awards', and asked, "You talked about the late Jonghyun a lot during your speech. It was very touching. Is there anything else you want to say that you've missed?"
IU answered, "I just hope my words were well delivered. I was a bit flustered." She continued, "He was a colleague who debuted in the same year as me. I was regretful on how I wasn't able to be more of a support as a colleague with the same dream, similar concerns, and growth."
IU added, "There were many year-end award shows and events following his death. It was a time of celebration where the people on stage became the main focus but I was worried since everyone, even those who didn't have personal relations (to Jonghyun), was standing on stage with an uneasy mind."
Lastly, she said, "I sincerely and strongly hoped there isn't anyone in pain, and wished their sincerity was shown and respected by the people who were watching."
