The girls took home their first win for "Peek-A-Boo" on the last day of their promotions for the song, but netizens called into question how valid their win was. The girls had the following points to their win:

The problematic points were the girls' 3500 SNS points, which is the max that an artist can get for the SNS points. 'Inkigayo's SNS points are from YouTube MV views, and fans pointed out that there was no possible way Red Velvet could get the full 3500 points when the MV for BTS' "Mic Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)" had much more views during the week.
From 6PM KST on November 26th to PM KST on December 3rd KST, BTS had 22,698,140 views while Red Velvet had 5,891,966 views. Red Velvet fans argued that 'Inkigayo' only counts the results for the top 30. However, BTS fans pointed out that BTS actually performed on charts better than last week, and they were #6 on 'Inkigayo's chart - meaning they should have ranked higher. In fact, the remix ranks at around ~50 on Gaon's chart, and 'Inkigayo' ranks every song within the top 150.
If BTS takes the 3500 max points, then Red Velvet would have taken 908, Naul would have taken 224, and MeloMance would have had 141 instead of the 3500, 864, and 546 they had respectively. This would add up the points to 5703, 5916, and 4990 for Red Velvet, Naul, and MeloMance, respectively, meaning Naul should have actually won the first place.
Viewers are demanding to know why BTS was taken out of the rankings when they should have been counted. Some are going as far as to wonder if something had gone on behind the scenes because Red Velvet hadn't won anything with their "Peek-A-Boo" promotions.
