This time, it's regarding the hit Mnet idol production program 'Produce 101'. Recently, a Chinese content platform released a teaser for their upcoming boy group production show titled 'Idol Evolutionism'.
'Idol Evolutionism' is a competition where a total of 111 trainees will compete to debut in a boy group. Sounds similar? It's no exaggeration to say the concept of the Chinese show is exactly same as 'Produce 101' season 2.

Currently, 'Idol Evolutionism' is gathering trainees to join the show. The broadcast date is set for January 2018.
On the plagiarism, a rep from Mnet's parent company CJ E&M commented, "It's very unfortunate how they're processing the show without going through the proper procedures of licensing and copyright purchase."
Just this year, many other Korean shows including 'Hyori's Bed & Breakfast', 'Show Me The Money', 'Yoon's Kitchen', and more have been plagiarized by Chinese production companies.
