On August 18, it's reported the Department of Special Investigation or DSI of Thailand is investigating Kim for forcing Thai women into prostitution.
According to DSI, Kim, who was an illegal immigrant of Thailand, joined hands with his girlfriend and attracted Thai women with fake ''plastic surgery travel package'' and job opportunities at massage parlors in South Korea.
When they arrived in Korea, the Thai women were locked up and forced into prostitution at a massage parlor in Gyeongju. The Thai women were able to request help to their families in Thailand, who reached out to DSI for investigation.

Upon receiving the report from Thailand, the Gyeongbok Metropolitan Police Agency arrested 10 people associated with the prostitution ring and sent the victims back to Thailand.
The head of DSI stated, "Kim was the one who was in charge of gathering and sending Thai women to Korea. He tricked them by offering help in their job search in Korea. However, he confiscated the victims' passports upon arrival and forced them into prostitution. Some were even forced into doing sexual acts without condoms."
