EXO released their fourth album 'The War' on July 19, and since then in the span of 24 days, have recorded album sales of approximately 1,012,021 copies. 'The War' is EXO's fastest album to reach a million sales confirming the group's immense power and popularity.
Back in 2013, EXO set the record for a million seller with 'XOXO' which was the first album to gain a million sales in twelve years. Then in 2015, their second full-length album 'EXODUS' sold over a million copies. Following that year, in 2016 'Ex'Act' marked the group's third million seller.
Regarding their consecutive million seller streak the group stated, "It hasn't even been a month since our album came out, and the fact that the album sold over a million copies is unbelievable. We feel that we must work harder to match the love we have received." They continued, "These results are all because of the fans. With a grateful heart, we will continue to create good music and performances."
With the release of "Ko Ko Bop" EXO immediately snagged first place on various music charts including the iTunes album chart. For two weeks, the group remained at the top spot on Billboard's World Album Chart, and have been number one on Apple Music and eighteen other locations. The group has swiped first place on several music award shows as well as other music charts such as United World Chart and China's Xiami Music showcasing their global popularity.
