According to Mokwon University on January 18, the exam topic was given during the animation department's entrance exam and students were asked to draw. This immediately caused controversy among students, leading them to voice their opinions on SNS as well as the school's homepage saying the topic was inappropriate.
One student stated, "Most of the students froze upon receiving the exam question, while others didn't even bother to draw anything at all." And continued, "I just cried not knowing what to do and just painted all in black and left." Another student claimed, "I sighed after reading the given topic. I drew the sinking ship and yellow balloons, but I couldn't help myself to draw the people by all means."
Netizens who came across the news commented, "Students studying for exams these days are around the same age as the students in the ferry accident," "I think it's troublesome to give such a topic especially since students have not fully recovered from the tragic event."
Do you think this was inappropriate on the university's part?
