B.A.P, already in the 5th year since their debut, sat down with TV Daily for an interview to discuss their new album, their leader's absence, and their fans.
B.A.P released their second full-length album 'Noir' recently. However, Bang Yong Guk, the one who had the most influence on the album could not participate in the promotions. He was diagnosed with a panic disorder and chose to seek treatment rather than force through the promotions. Instead of Bang Yong Guk, Himchan took over the role of a leader, as well as doing the rap part in the new song.
Daehyun shared, "Honestly, I cannot feel his absence that much. It is not because we don't feel his emptiness. It's because we have determined to not think about his absence. If we keep thinking about, we sway toward negative things. Before we made a comeback, all the members gathered and talked. We all decided, 'We will fill his space.'"
Himchan, who is taking over Bang Yong Guk's role, said, "Frankly I do feel the pressure, but when I mentioned it at the showcase, there were so many articles about it. Our fans got so worried, that I felt like I made a mistake saying it. But how can I not feel pressured? I am wearing someone else' clothes, I am wearing [Bang Yong Guk]'s clothes, so when he gets it back, he will be better than me."
B.A.P has their fair share of struggles, and so they are very attached and affectionate toward their fans. Daehyun said, "Our fans have a lot of struggles because of us. So we always feel sorry to our fans. We want to say, thank you. Our fans and us have grown more loving toward each other. A lot happened and there were a lot of difficulties, so they encourage us more. And watching them, we cannot help but work hard. We are always so grateful."
