Yang, the CEO of Kim Hyun Joong's agency Key East, was also present during the proceeding. Yang claimed, "On August 22, 2014, a certain media outlet released an exclusive report that Kim Hyun Joong's girlfriend filed suit against him for charges of battery, and until Kim Hyun Joong underwent police investigation around September 2 [of the same year], a total of 1,690 articles came out regarding the issue."
Kim Hyun Joong's legal representative Lee Jae Man said, "Kim Hyun Joong was critically attacked for around three years by articles which reported on the lawsuits, the pregnancy, and violence. He suffered great economic loss for a guarantee payment of 300 million KRW (~$256,731 USD), fee of 600 million KRW (~$513,462 USD) for being appointed the exclusive model of a duty free shop, and the cancelation of his appearance in a 16-episode long Chinese drama."
