Unlike Mattner's claims that the Korea authorities failed to follow proper "rape procedures," Yong-San Police Station Woman & Juvenile Crime Department's section chief says "the Korea police led you to the National Boramae hospital to collect the evidence of the crime. So, the Police collected the suspect's DNA sample, and sent the sample to the National Forensic Test Lab to match with the DNA sample storage in the lab. We are fully utilizing the sample in our investigation."
Further, though Mattner is adamant that she was drugged, tests by the National Forensic Test Lab revealed that there were no drugs in her system. The section chief also stated that they have secured the CCTV footage of the unnamed motel where Mattner was allegedly raped; however, they determined that the person in the footage was not the criminal.
