Not only was this much needed for the viewers but it was also something that Seol and Yoo Jung desperately needed in their relationship. Throughout the episode the two are seen battling through their differences and starting to move towards each other, growing out of their initial awkwardness. We did see a bit of warmth between the two in the past episodes, but never like this.
The episode starts off with Seol and Yoo Jung still struggling to get past their last misunderstanding about Yoo Jung's grade manipulation and Seol questioning her relationship with Yoo Jung.
Before jumping into the relationship development between Yoo Jung and Seol, we need to step back and talk about the growing friendship and warmth between Seol and In Ho because it gets increasingly adorable and heartfelt in this episode.
The two are seen sharing a brief moment together in the rain (it rains way too frequently in this drama) as In Ho is seen weeping while watching his piano professor with another pupil who had just won a piano competition.
Seol doesn't ask and In Ho doesn't tell. When In Ho asks Seol if he had seen him crying earlier, Seol plays dumb for his sake and In Ho knows it. Subtle yet caring, Seol's attentive and considerate personality really shined in this particular scene, and I was pleased to see that she didn't go ahead and pry for the sake of In Ho.
It's usually very natural for people to feel the need to interfere in someone else's business and volunteer as the superhero that wasn't called for, but Seol knew her boundaries and didn't poke at personal issues as if she was just waiting for him to open up on his own.
However, this beautiful moment was interrupted by Yoo Jung who coincidentally shows up at the local bar and proceeds to banter back and forth with In Ho. Way to go Yoo Jung.
The one good thing that came out of Yoo jung's presence was that Seol's drunkenness changed the dynamic between Yoo Jung and Seol from being completely on the opposite spectrum to being more understanding, and both come out of the situation relieved and genuinely happy.
Episode 5 introduces another antagonist in Seol's life, Yong Gon, who's been harassing Seol in the past. This time around, he doesn't cause much trouble (except shaking up Seol), but it's expected that he will be making frequent appearance in the coming episodes, disrupting the peace between Yoo Jung and Seol.
As for now, Yoo Jung and Seol are in the clear as the two continue their merry ways, even spending the night together at Seol's place. More than anything, it was a relief to finally see Seol happy in this episode and that it was Yoo Jung who helped in making her that way.
Until now, Seol's been hesitant about their relationship and even questioned Yoo Jung's intentions of being in a relationship with her. Now, Seol is much less reserved about showing her feelings towards Yoo Jung, and we were able to see a more relaxed, giddy, and undeniably lovable side of Seol.
The only thing I found disappointing about this episode was the lack of Eun Taek and Bora, and I fear that their scenes will only decrease from here on out. However, the amount of warmth and cheesiness I got from this episode between Yoo Jung and Seol did leave me content, knowing that this is an uphill battle.
