In the anticipated last episode of the drama, things couldn't have wrapped up more perfectly. In fact, everything was just so perfect that I got bored watching this episode. I was actually hoping for an abrupt plot twist from the writer to hit me in the face but alas, nothing of the sort happened. Fans got exactly what they wanted, and there was no hint of the crazy theories from the viewers i.e. the possibility that Hye Jin has left the world and that Sung Joon may be a mental person who contrived everything in his head.
Boy: Hey girl, think of me when you see a yellowed pickled radish.
Girl: WTF?
No, both Hye Jin and Sung Joon end up perfectly fine, and neither of them are crazy. Sung Joon even abandons his career at 'The Most' HQ in NYC to never leave Hye Jin's side ever again. Of course, the two tie the knot, move in together, and even has a daughter that comes out looking like a miniature version of Hye Jin. Sung Joon goes back to 'The Most' Korea team and Hye Jin makes a name for herself as a children's storybook writer, fulfilling her childhood dream.
Me on a typical Sat morning: dead as a log.
And what exactly happened with Shin Hyuk, aka 'Ten'? Sadly enough, Shin Hyuk and Hye Jin never reunite but it was clear that they would forever remain in each other's hearts as dear friends. We also finally got to hear what Shin Hyuk whispered in Hye Jin's ear last episode. It was a simple request, yet one that held deep meaning for both of them. He asked her to think of him every time she ate danmooji (aka yellow pickled radish), which actually might be quite often if you're a Korean person living in Korea. Especially if you are a Korean person living in Korea who likes to eat a lot of jjajangmyun and gimbap. I see what you did there Shin Hyuk....
Uhhh..get a room guise.
No, srsly, get A ROOM.
You may be wondering what happened to Ha Ri. Well, don't worry, because she had a perfectly happy ending, as well. She became a total nerd after entering graduate school and landed a job at another hotel, the job she was meant to do. She even got a cute lil' undergraduate male student trailing after her who is convinced that she will fall in love with him. Let those cougar instincts kick in Ha Ri.
Can we get a big AWWWWWWWWW
So there really is nothing to complain about here, folks. Everyone got a nicely packaged happy ending, and not a speckle of doom could be found anywhere. The whole drama was like a fairy tale, especially the way Hye Jin transformed from an 'ugly duckling' into a beautiful swan at the end. And I don't mean in just terms of her looks. She gained more confidence in her ability, and the return of Sung Joon in her life filled her with an effusive joy that she will never feel with anyone else. With his love, she realized that it doesn't matter what she looks like; it's her heart that matters the most! Why do you think Hye Jin was loved by everyone around her? Yes, it is cheesy, but I think that was intentaionlly done.
Can we get another big AWWWWWWWWWWWW
