They say fashion recycles itself, and it seems so as the '90s is making a strong comeback in the fashion scene. Being the trendy beings they are, k-pop idols are leading many of these looks (of course).
If you've been keeping up with the current comebacks and trends in the k-pop world, you'll definitely recognize some of these ways k-pop idols are bringing back '90s fashion.
1. Choker Necklaces
Never thought these 1990's chokers would ever be prevalent again, but they're everywhere. If I were to go through all the currently performing female idol groups, there's at least one member rocking a choker necklace.
Nine Muses in "Hurt Locker"
Girls' Generation in "Party"
SISTAR in "Shake It"
Oh hey there Rap Monster~
2. Denim
Denim defined pop culture in the '90s.
'Friends' anyone?
Here's SISTAR's oversized denim jeans, but blinged out.
You gotta wear your denims up high accompanied with a chunky belt, like Janet Jackson from the '90s.
TaeTiSeo got it right and they slayed.
3. Overalls
These were my favorite as a little girl, but hey, maybe I can pull them off now since they're in trend once more.
MAMAMOO looking good for their "Um Oh Ah Yeah" performance.
^denim and choker necklaces too #winning
CL, duh.
GOT7 knows what's up.
Remember H.O.T. and their furry overalls in the '90s? *tear
4. Accent Braids
Here's another one I remember sporting when I was kid.
This is '90s pop queen Britney Spears with her accent braids back in the day.
These are great because they're easy ways to add interest to your look.
Red Velvet had them in for their "Ice Cream" music video.
Here's AOA with their braid accents in their current promotions with "Heart Attack."
Spotted one on Nine Muses Hye Mi in their "Hurt Locker" music video.
and another on Key for SHINee's "Odd" promotions. I have an eagle's eye for things like these, I swear.
5. Pink Hair Streaks
Bright pink hair color was the look to attempt in the late '90s.Here is Gwen Stefani in 1999.
Minah is sporting her pink streaks in Girl's Day's recent comeback "Ring My Bell."
Teen Top members with some bursts of pink.
Girls' Generation's Taeyeon looks glorious with her pink hair.
But then again k-pop has always sported that pink pink hair.
Which makes me think... K-pop artists are constantly bringing back looks. They really are the queens and kings of fashion, am I right or am I right?
