The payment dispute between two constructions companies and Toscana Hotel is brought into the spotlight yet again as media outlets recently reported that the police have started investigating the case.
Despite the official statement released by Toscana Hotel denying their financial obligation to the construction companies, the reports have placed Junsu's name and picture in the article, tying the situation to the idol and consequently enraging fans.
In the comment section of the reports, many fans defended the idol by linking articles from the past that negated Junsu's responsibility to pay the construction companies.
One commenter wrote, "The article title is so sensational. It seems like they were trying to get more money since he is a Hallyu star. And since the refuting statement and evidence was released, the truth will come out soon..."
As it was reported before, the hotel claimed that they had written promissory notes (IOUs) to the companies that stated, "I acknowledge that the promissory note is for the use of the bank or company's financial documentation and is not an actual amount to be reimbursed."
Meanwhile, CJ Construction and Cheonji Construction have been in charge of the construction of Junsu's Toscana hotel on Jeju Island from January of 2012 to August of 2014, and since then have sued Junsu and the hotel for failing to pay for the construction costs.
