As mentioned before, on the January 14th broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star', Jung Jun Ha had said that a 'top female star' from SM Entertainment had come to his wedding and had only put in 20,000 KRW. This soon made headlines as many criticized Jung Jun Ha for seemingly judging a person on the amount of money that he or she gives at a wedding. Others also started to throw guesses about which female celebrity could have been this stingy guest at the comedian's wedding.
However, realizing how much of an impact his words had, the comedian issued an apology and revealed that he had just exaggerated the story to make it fun, and had only said that the celebrity in question was in SM Entertainment because Kyuhyun is one of the MCs of the show.
Jung Jun Ha told Star News on the 15th, "That person [I talked about] is not a celebrity from SM... Because [Super Junior's] Kyuhyun was also there [at the recording], that's why I said it like that. I apologize for causing any misunderstanding. I was thoughtless.
The broadcast was filmed 3 weeks ago, and the MCs were asking me about the congratulatory money I received, and about who gave the most congratulatory money, so in attempt to change up the atmosphere and switch the topic, I had said something like that...The person who gave the 20,000 KRW (~18.45 USD) in congratulatory money did not actually attend the wedding ceremony, and is not from SM. It was from someone who gave the congratulatory money through someone else who attended the wedding ceremony.
I'm thankful for anyone who congratulated me on my wedding, so of course I'm not looking down upon the congratulatory money... But the talk about it came up during the recording and it appeared as if I had bought a house with my congratulatory money, so I felt burdened. I am truly sorry for causing misunderstanding with something I said to make things funny to change the atmosphere... I would like to say that I'm sorry once again for any harm I may have caused to others through this incident."
