Rhythm Power uploaded the music video to 'Game of Thrones' on Wednesday the 22nd through Amoeba Culture's YouTube page. The song is a single from the trio's newest album entitled 'Walmido's Dogs' which came out the 23rd. The album is an EP containing a total of ten tracks.
Now that the logistics are out of the way, let's discuss the music video. The videography was reminiscent of something you would see in a movie from the 90s. It wasn't too impressive but I digged the old-school vibe. Though there were no synchronized dance moves, an intricate plot, or even a fancy-looking set, the entire music video was highly amusing to watch. It's not the kind of amusing where I was derisively jeering at the rappers of Rhythm Power because I believe they are talentless twits. I was genuinely entertained by their antics much like how a friend would enjoy the random horseplay of peers. But I somehow get the feeling Rhythm Power's shenanigans 'round town weren't random at all.
They knew exactly what they were doing, from the part where all three of them ride around on kid-sized scooters in snow-white jumpsuits, to when Haeng Joo attempts a karate kick at a barrel of fire and even when Jigooin gyrates his pelvis on the fences of a pagoda (on second thought, the pelvis gyrating was probably improvised). I have always thoroughly appreciated Rhythm Power's humorous approach in directing their videos and this time was no exception. They don't take themselves seriously which is a refreshing attitude amongst a pool of groups who at times, try a little too hard to come off a certain way.
Besides scenes of the group wreaking havoc in the town of Walmido, there are also snippets of them playing drinking games with several young women at karaoke. These scenes are actually relevant to the lyrics which allude to the three of them being the 'kings'. That is, they each become 'kings' in the game who acquires the ability to control the other players at his whim. The game can get quite dirty and I think the members of Rhythm Power tried to do things to these girls or have them do things for them using the game as an excuse. At the end of the video we see one girl angrily walking out with the other girls following suit. The three members are then left looking nonplussed as to what they could possibly have done wrong to agitate the women.
All in all, 'Game of Thrones' is a music video that is sure to bring a grin to your face. Give them some love by checking this video out and also their previous works.
