MBLAQ's G.O. won the hearts of the 'Immortal Song 2' audience with a soulful ballad fit for the fall season.
The September 15th episode of the show held a special for legendary diva Yoo Shi Nae. Along with G.O., Noeul, Sweet Sorrow, 4men's Shin Yong Jae, Cha Ji Yeon, band Toxic, and f(x)'s Luna performed.
The first on stage was Cha Ji Yeon, whose powerful vocals amazed the audience, with the song "Ardent Love". Luna followed up with her cover of "Needlessly" with a special appearance by fellow f(x) member Amber. She performed her rendition of Yoo Shi Nae's debut song in a sheer, black dress, surprising the audience with the sexy concept.
Cha Ji Yeon won two rounds, beating out Luna and Shin Yong Jae's "To the DJ". Sweet Soul then claimed the most points with "Let's Study", coming out on top over Cha Ji Yeon and Toxic from 'Top Band Season 1'.
However, Noeul won the crowd over with a dance-driven performance of "I Want to Leave You". Last up was MBLAQ's G.O. with "Love's Poem", which received a thunderous applause from the audience.
Host Jung Jae Hyung commented on G.O.'s performance: "He made me feel majesty and tragic love with his cover. G.O.'s [thin] voice went well with the song, making a curious atmosphere," while Yoon Shi Nae stated, "Idol singers these days sing part by part and prefer rhythmic songs, so it's good to see a singer whose talent is acknowledged like this. Your rendition was magnificent and dramatic, and because you expressed the emotions [of the song] so well, it was a very good performance."
G.O. won the 'Immortal Song' trophy with 392 points from the audience.
