Singer and songwriter Psy admitted with good nature that his album will most likely be ruled unsuitable for those under the legal age of 19 thanks to the competition set off by Gary.
On July 16th, Psy met with a few reporters to talk about part 1 of his formal sixth album which was just released on the 15th.
"The music portal sites are going to have to hurry and rate my album song 'Intro to 77' unsuited for minors," he said, evoking curiosity amongst the reporters. The song was written by Psy and his same-age friends Gil and Gary of Leessang along with Kim Jin Pyo, and the lyrics contain material that is a bit too explicit for minors.
"Watching the movie 'Introduction to Architecture', I saw that it was a movie about the Class of '94," Psy said. "After watching that movie which about about a class two years older than we, I thought that it would be cool if there was a 'Intro to Architecture' for those born in '77 such as 'Intro to 77', and thus the song was born."
"I wasn't going to write such explicit lyrics, but then Gary started writing the rap first and it was really strong," he explained with a laugh. "Jin Pyo and I then saw it as a competition, and the lyrics inevitably became unsuited for minors."
In other news, Psy's new song "Gangnam Style" has swept the music charts immediately upon release, thanks to its fresh lyrics and electronic sound.
The singer will be releasing Part 2 of his sixth formal album this September, as well as simultaneously releasing his first Japanese mini-album. The mini-album will contain songs that will be carefully selected from part 1 & 2 of his sixth formal album. The title song will be the Japanese version of "Gangnam Style", "Roppongi Style".
