Park Jung Hwan made an appearance at the police station today to participate in the investigation involving his lawsuit against DJ DOC members Lee Haneul and Kim Chang Ryul. Before going in, he met with the press and expressed his thoughts about the current situation. Breaking down in tears, Park Jung Hwan said:
"First, I would like to use this time to apologize to everyone. I would also like to bow my head in apology for all the fans who love DJ DOC's music. I was in charge of DJ DOC's 1st album, and as a person who gave it his all for the birth of DJ DOC, it's heart-wrenching to stand here today. In 1994, until DJ DOC was born, Shin Chul and I planned everything together. If we hadn't done that, the DJ DOC of Lee Haneul and Kim Chang Ryul wouldn't have existed. Lee Haneul, Kim Chang Ryul, Shin Chul, and I are all at fault. As a leader, I wasn't able to cooperate better with Lee Haneul and Kim Chang Ryul. Shin Chul, as the captain of this ship who planned everything for DJ DOC, was at fault the most. On the deck of the ship, the captain and the crew can make some mistakes. Tone, rhythm, tone deaf, rhythmically challenged... we were all novices back then. I thought that we were getting through it one-by-one, developing our own musical style as time passed. However, they stated that I was a friend who was not needed on the ship, and threw me into sea. They decided to leave me out, and even before promotions for the 1st album ended, they brought in Jun Jae Yong. I'm still hurt by the memory of them introducing Jun Jae Yong during one stage, mocking me. It was so hard, I wanted to die. As a member of DJ DOC, whenever my fellow members made music loved by many, I, as a fan, also loved DJ DOC's music. I'm also pained for having no choice but to take legal measures against my fellow members, whom I have gone through difficult times and shared memories with in the past. I'm torn up about having to take legal measures against hoobae Kim Chang Ryul, and my friend Lee Haneul. If they had made a sincere apology, if they come a step closer by apologizing genuinely, I was going to open up and forgive them after having a frank conversation. During Lee Haneul's official public apology announcing his tentative retirement [from the entertainment industry], I was once again disappointed when he stated 'I felt like I was stabbed in the back'; the chasm of emotions has deepened. I'm stating this once again, the situation has come to a point in which I had no choice but to take legal steps, and sue."For those of you who haven't kept up with the story, DJ DOC's former member Park Jung Hwan sued Lee Haneul and Kim Chang Ryul for dissing him as "rhythmicaly challenged" on TV while discussing their past member line-up changes. Lee Haneul publicly apologized after realizing that his first apology had sounded far from sincere. Haneul stated that Jung Hwan did not actually lack a sense of rhythm and also revealed that he would be pulling out of the entertainment industry to show how truly sincere he was. Since then, Lee Haneul has expressed his feelings about the current situation and has reached out to Jung Hwan, asking to resolve the misunderstanding. However, Park Jung Hwan stated that he had no plans of withdrawing the lawsuit. Source + Photo: Star News 1, 2
