Jeju Island citizens as well as many of the island's leaders, such as the head of Ministry of Sports, Culture & Tourism all gathered at the Jeju Arts Center and held their breath, waiting for The New7wonders to announce their long-awaited results. They not only let out a sigh of relief but joyfully cheered at 4:07AM when The New7wonders introduced Jeju Island as one of provisional New 7 Wonders of Nature. The results are based on votes that came in between July 2009 and November 11th, 2011, via text messaging, phone calls, and an online voting system. Although the results are only provisional based on the first count of votes, the chances of the results changing at this point are highly unlikely and the official winners will be announced in 2012 after careful tally and approval of all the votes. The announced new 7 wonders of the world include in alphabetical order, the Amazon of Brazil, Vietnam's Halong Bay, Argentina's Iguazu Falls, Korea's Jeju Island, Indonesia's Komodo Park, The Philippines' Puerto Princesa Underground River, and South Africa's Table Mountain.
