LOST star Kim Yun Jin turned down the lead female role for the worldwide blockbuster, Avatar. It's quite hard to believe that someone would reject such a big movie, but it's true. Most of you guys have probably seen Avatar or at least heard of it. The movie took around $350 million to make but it's already made over $1 billion. Kim Yun Jin passed this chance up for filming for her hit series, LOST. She was offered the role of Neytiri, the princess of the Na'vi, otherwise known as the tribe of big blue people. Maybe it's for the better that she didn't accept the role because we wouldn't even get to see her face. The cool thing is, she was offered the role by the director himself, James Cameron. If you guys don't know, James Cameron is one of the most successful directors of all time. He directed Titanic and the Terminator movies. Kim Yun Jin once told James Cameron that her movie, Swiri (1999) beat Titanic in the box office in Korea. James Cameron joked to her, "Really? Well then I'll work hard and take revenge!" James Cameron even bought the DVD of Swiri and asked for an autograph from Kim Yun Jin. The two come face to face again because her new movie, Harmony is opening in theaters pretty soon and right now, Avatar is taking first place in Korean box offices. When asked to talk about turning down the role in Avatar in a radio interview, Kim Yun Jin said, "I don't talk about roles I've turned down. I think that's rude to the person who has the role now."
