Previously, photos that showed two starved dogs that were provided only makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for sustenance enraged netizens as the pictures made their rounds on the internet. Now, a bittersweet ending has come out of that story.
On July 7, Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE) uploaded a post on their official Facebook page stating that one of the two dogs recently died after its horrible ordeal. They also revealed that the former owner of the dog continues to claim that the photos were taken a long time ago.
However, the other victimized dog was rescued in time, allowing it a second chance at life. CARE was able to head down to Busan where the dog was residing with the cruel owner, picking up the suffering pup safely.
While CARE has requested the police to launch an investigation into the case, they are providing the rescued Pekingese with much-needed medical attention. They are also beginning the adoption process to ensure that the dog finally ends up in a loving forever home.
