Journalist Kim Se Ui from HOVERLAB (Garo Sero Research Institute), representing the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, claimed to possess evidence proving that Kim Soo Hyun engaged in behavior comparable to the Nth Room scandal. However, he stated that they would not disclose it out of respect for the deceased’s honor.

On the afternoon of March 27 at 1:30 PM KST, a press conference was held at Space Share in Seocho-gu, Seoul, with Bu Ji Seok, the representative lawyer of the law firm Buyou, and Kim Se Ui of HOVERLAB, speaking on behalf of Kim Sae Ron’s family.

During the conference, Kim Se Ui addressed the previously released photo of Kim Sae Ron pressing her cheeks with Kim Soo Hyun, stating, “I cannot reveal further details. The reason we are speaking from the perspective of the bereaved family is solely to protect their honor. Kim Sae Ron herself said that the photo was taken in 2016.”

Previously, Kim Se Ui had accused Kim Soo Hyun of engaging in acts on par with the Nth Room scandal during Kim Sae Ron’s underage years. Regarding this claim, he explained, “Mentioning the 'Nth Room' was meant to expose Kim Soo Hyun’s shameless attitude and raise awareness by showing that we have this kind of material. However, we are proceeding in a way that does not tarnish the honor of Kim Sae Ron and her family, which is why we are not making it public.”

From March 10 to 13, HOVERLAB released statements from 'A,' a close confidant of Kim Sae Ron’s mother, who was like a sister to her, and photos of physical affection between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron. HOVERLAB claimed that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship for six years, starting in 2016 when she was still a minor. They further published letters and photos allegedly sent during Kim Soo Hyun’s military service that coincided with Kim Sae Ron’s underage years.

Kim Soo Hyun’s side refuted these claims as outright falsehoods but later responded to the additional photo releases by stating, “Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae Ron had become an adult.”
