Kai, a member of EXO, is gearing up to reclaim his spot in the K-pop scene.
According to industry sources on March 5th, Kai is currently in the final stages of preparation for his solo comeback, aiming to release his fourth mini-album in April. Filming for the new music video is scheduled to take place next week.
This marks Kai’s first comeback since completing his alternative military service. He began his duty as a public service worker in May 2023 and was officially discharged on February 10th.
His last solo release was in March 2023, when he dropped his third mini-album ‘Rover’. The album was a massive success, topping iTunes Top Album charts in 40 countries worldwide. It also secured the No. 1 spot on domestic album charts and the QQ Music Digital Album Sales Chart in China, further cementing his influence as a solo artist.
Notably, despite being an 11-year industry veteran, Kai was moved to tears when he won first place on KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank’ with ‘Rover’, touching fans worldwide.
Ahead of his comeback, Kai will make his first post-military public appearance through the YouTube web variety show ‘Ex-Convict’ Season 6. Following Lee Chang Sub, he has been selected as the second official “ex-convict” of the show. ‘Ex-Convict’ Season 6 will premiere on March 20th.
