Kim So Yeon and Bada, former member of S.E.S., attended a memorial service marking 20 years since the passing of Lee Eun Joo, continuing their long-standing tribute to the late actress.
On February 22, Kim Dong Sik, CEO of Namoo Actors and Lee Eun Joo’s former agency representative, shared photos from the gathering on Instagram. He wrote, “Twenty years have already passed. Every year, the same unwavering people gather to comfort Eun Joo’s mother.”
The photos featured Kim So Yeon, Bada, and others who have consistently attended the annual memorial. Kim Dong Sik expressed deep appreciation, noting, “Except during the COVID-19 pandemic, they have never hesitated to travel long distances for this day.” He added that the gathering has now become more than just a tribute, evolving into a close-knit reunion.
Reflecting on Lee Eun Joo’s legacy, he wrote, “If she were still with us, she would be in her mid-40s. But to us, she will always remain as beautiful as she appears in her photographs.” He also mentioned plans to reunite with Lee Eun Joo’s mother at Bada’s husband’s bakery in Yeouido when the cherry blossoms bloom.

Lee Eun Joo passed away on February 22, 2005, at the age of 25, after battling depression and insomnia. She debuted as an actress in 1997’s 'Start' and quickly became one of the top stars of the early 2000s, known for her distinct mix of urban coolness and emotional depth.
She starred in dramas such as 'KAIST' and 'Phoenix', as well as films like 'Bungee Jumping of Their Own', 'Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War', and her final work, 'The Scarlet Letter'.
