"I promise to come back with more maturity," Kim Ji Young apologizes 2 years after 'debt dispute' with ex-boyfriend

Former child actress, known for the TV series 'Jang Bo Ri Is Here!,' Kim Ji Young has issued an apology two years after a "debt fight" with her former partner.

On January 8 KST, Ji Young shared a lengthy Instagram post addressing allegations made by her ex-boyfriend in January 2023 regarding a financial dispute involving borrowed money from his parents.

Ji Young's letter is as follows:

"Hello, I'm actress Kim Ji Young. It's been a while. I hope you're all doing well and have a happy new year, and I sincerely hope that everything you wish for comes true. Today, I'm writing to convey some news and updates on my personal life that took place in January 2023.

First, about the incident, I dutifully went through the legal process after consulting with my parents. However, due to the fact that I was a minor at the time and due to legal reasons, I am unable to disclose the details and outcome, and I ask for your understanding.

However, regardless of the outcome, I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have felt disappointed or uncomfortable. I sincerely apologize. I realize that my inexperience may have caused you concern. I want to bow my head and apologize again.

I have since taken the time to reflect on myself. I made my debut as an actress as a child, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in many great productions, and received a lot of love and attention that I don't deserve.

For all of this, I've always been grateful. However, the pressure, personal struggles, and insecurities that came with being an actress started at a young age. I went through a lot of wandering and hard times.

But for the many people who believed in me and supported me, I sincerely believe that I should have always been on my best behavior. I am deeply remorseful for the disappointment I caused with my immature judgment and behavior.

I have been involved in some bad things and have had a hard time. This has made me realize how much I love acting,
and how much I strive to do my best to deliver a good performance. Even if it takes time, I promise to come back to you with more maturity and authenticity.
