On the morning of the 20th, a screening of footage from 'Mickey 17' and a press conference took place at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. The event was attended by Bong Joon Ho, the film’s director and screenwriter, along with lead actor Robert Pattinson.

During the event, Robert Pattinson praised Bong Joon Ho, saying, “Director Bong is one of only 4 or 5 directors in the world at this level. He’s a filmmaker every actor dreams of working with.”

He elaborated, “When you watch Director Bong’s films, the worlds he creates are truly special. He touches on deeply personal and emotional aspects. It’s hard to put into words, but these feelings are conveyed through performance. I watched 'Memories of Murder' years ago, and I was amazed at how it navigated between absurdities and serious situations so freely.”

Pattinson expressed his excitement about collaborating with Bong Joon Ho, saying, “I’ve always wanted to be part of films like his. When Director Bong considered me for 'Mickey 17,' I immediately raised my hand. Among all of his works, I think this film might be my favorite.”

Bong Joon Ho humorously responded, “Can you tell me who the other 4 or 5 directors are?” Pattinson, smiling, replied, “I still need to continue my career, so I’ll leave it at that.”

Pattinson also shared his experience working with Bong Joon Ho: “Actors want to work with someone who challenges their limits and brings out new possibilities. Director Bong is exactly that kind of filmmaker. I’ve never worked with a director who has his unique style. He exudes an aura, is systematic, confident, and executes his vision flawlessly.”

He continued, “Because of his efficiency, we shot less than I expected. After a few weeks, I got used to it and felt a sense of freedom, allowing me to focus my energy. By the end of the first week, I was saying, ‘This set is the best.’ Plus, it was amazing that he showed us the edited scenes on set.”

In response to the praise, Bong Joon Ho humbly remarked, “In Korea, it’s common to show on-set editing. In Hollywood, this doesn’t happen, which is why foreign actors are often surprised.”

Meanwhile, 'Mickey 17' is a story about an expendable worker sent on dangerous missions. When Mickey faces his 17th near-death experience, believing he has died, "Mickey 18" is printed, leading to an unpredictable series of events.

This marks Bong Joon Ho’s first project in five years since 'Parasite' and is set for a global release, with its world premiere in Korea on February 28.
