Italian luxury fashion house Prada has announced Kim Soo Hyun as its new brand ambassador.
On December 19, Prada stated, “Kim Soo Hyun is one of the most recognized actors in Korea and has recently captivated global audiences through the drama 'The Queen of Tears'.” They added, “With his outstanding acting skills and versatile charm, he has become a key figure in Korea’s television and film industry, seamlessly transitioning between the small and big screens.”
Kim Soo Hyun made his debut in 2007, rising to stardom as a lead actor in the 2011 drama 'Dream High.' With his exceptional acting ability, charming visuals, and strong star power, he established himself as a "ratings guarantee" and a "box-office powerhouse" for both dramas and films.
His status as a Hallyu (Korean Wave) star skyrocketed in 2013 when he played the role of Do Min Joon in the hit drama 'My Love From the Star.' The show’s immense popularity across Asia, particularly in China, made him a leading figure in the Hallyu movement.
This year, Kim Soo Hyun captivated global audiences once again by playing Baek Hyun Woo in tvN's 'The Queen of Tears.' The drama broke tvN's four-year ratings record and emerged as one of the most talked-about Korean dramas on Netflix. In just the first quarter, the show amassed over 29.2 million cumulative views and 682.6 million viewing hours on Netflix, cementing its status as one of the most popular Korean dramas of the year.
