Lee Min Ho shares how he almost became an idol.
The December 25th episode of 'You Quiz on the Block' will feature actor Lee Min Ho, making his first variety show appearance in 16 years and his first-ever talk show since debut. From his entrance, Lee Min Ho brings unintentional laughter, hanging his coat on a fishing chair and greeting the hosts with his iconic line, “Did you miss me?”
On the show, Lee Min Ho shares stories of his school days when he and his close friend Jung Il Woo were known as the “two kings of Daebang-dong.” He also reveals how he gave up his dream of becoming a soccer player to pursue acting. Additionally, the episode will explore why Lee Min Ho, recognized by Yoo Jae Suk as having the “classic SM look,” turned down casting offers from SM Entertainment not once, but three times.
Of course, no conversation with Lee Min Ho would be complete without mentioning 'Boys Over Flowers' and the “Gu Jun Pyo syndrome.” Lee Min Ho discusses his audition experience for the show, as well as the humorous struggles of adapting to his role as a chaebol heir. He also opens up about how, despite the character’s lavish lifestyle, it was a personally challenging time for him.
The episode also delves into behind-the-scenes stories from 'The Heirs', including the creation of the “Kim Tan quotes,” and the infamous “falling Lee Min Ho” meme from the Baeksang Arts Awards. Fans can look forward to an impromptu live performance by the Hallyu star as well. Lee Min Ho will also recount the question that brought judges to tears during his 'Pachinko' audition and share heartfelt, candid stories about his life as an actor.
Yoo Jae Suk reportedly expressed his excitement by saying, “Why are you only coming on now?” This Christmas special promises to showcase Lee Min Ho’s charm and wit, making it a gift for viewers to enjoy.
