Lyricist and broadcaster Kim Eana, who is known to be the lyricist behind IU's "Good Day," has been embroiled in controversy over the use of "Ilbe" terms, and did not provide any additional clarification on her radio show.

Ilbe
is short for Ilgan Best Jeojangso, meaning "Daily Best Archive" and is a controversial South Korean online community known for its far-right, ultraconservative, and often misogynistic, racist, and anti-feminist ideologies presented by its users.

On the December 9 broadcast of MBC FM4U's 'Kim Eana's Starry Night,' Super Junior's Kyuhyun appeared as a guest.

During the broadcast, Kim Eana delivered the following opening monologue, "'Culinary Class Wars' Imokase No. 1, Chef Kim Mi Ryeong, revealed that during her childhood, which was once filled with abundance, it was her mother's warm bowl of noodles that supported the family when hardships struck. Understanding the warmth and comfort contained in a bowl of noodles, she decided to carry on the family business. Even when life felt spicy and salty when she wanted to complain or give up entirely, it was the customers’ words, 'That was delicious,' that made her turn the stove back on and brew another pot of broth."

She added, "On a day like today, when the cold sets in, perhaps we all need a dish that may not be flashy but warms the heart."

The controversy stems from internet communities claiming that Kim Eana had used terms such as "좌장면 jwa-jangmyeon" (a pun on "jjajangmyeon (Black bean noodles)" and "훠궈 Hweoguo hot pot," both known to be associated with the far-right online community Ilbe, in previous chat logs.

These chat logs resurfaced amid ongoing political discourse following the emergency martial law declaration under President Yoon Suk Yeol, further drawing attention.

Additionally, past footage from a live broadcast with popular internet streamer 'Chimchakman' revealed Kim Eana making a remark referencing the phrase "삼일한 sam-il-han" — a misogynistic term meaning "women should be beaten once every three days" — which sparked further backlash.

As criticism surged in the form of demands for clarification in the comments on Kim Eana's social media, she eventually issued a statement. She claimed, "I have never accessed Ilbe, nor do I know which of those words originated from there." She also emphasized, "I am one of the citizens who has been enraged ever since the moment martial law was declared."

Despite her explanation, public sentiment did not subside. As a result, Kim Eana closed the comment section on her social media accounts.

People tuning in her latest broadcast had anticipated that she would address the Ilbe-related controversy during her radio show, but Kim Eana proceeded with the broadcast as usual, without providing any additional explanation.
