According to media outlet reports on November 21 KST, JYP Entertainment has confirmed plans to launch its new boy group in December.
The boy group, believed to be named KICK FLIP based on a set of trademarks registered by JYPE earlier this year, consists of members from the SBS audition program 'LOUD' aired in 2021. All of the members were hand-chosen by J.Y. Park, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at JYP Entertainment. The producer is also said to have overseen the group's cultivation and growth since their selection through 'LOUD'.
While it's rare for a major entertainment company to launch rookie teams in December, as various year-end events can distract attention from a new team, the decision to launch KICK FLIP this year partly owes to the fact that JYP Entertainment may be undergoing a reorganization of its revenue channels in 2025, with major earner Stray Kids entering contract renewal season.
Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment's plans for 2025 also include the debut of a new boy group in China, the debut of a new Latin girl group, and the launch of new artists across a range of genres, such as trot and R&B. J.Y. Park is currently also discovering new talent through the KBS audition program 'The DDANDDARA', which premiered earlier on November 3 KST. Talents recruited through 'The DDANDDARA' will debut under the JYPE subsidiary INNIT Entertainment some time next year.
