On the September 30th broadcast ofthe radio showSBS Power FM's 'Youngstreet', hosted by Red Velvet's Wendy, The Black Label's new girl group MEOVV, who had recently made their debut, mentioned the song that opened the world of K-pop for them and dream of becoming K-pop idols.
The MEOVV members performed four songs during the radio show, including their debut single "MEOW", along with acapella renditions of "U-Go-Girl" by Lee Hyori, "I Don't Care" by 2NE1, and "Psycho" by Red Velvet", showing off their jaw-dropping vocals. Among these works, the members of MEOVV highlighted 2NE1's hit single "I Don't Care" as the track that ignited their dreams of becoming singers.
"This is the song that made MEOVV dream of becoming a singer", Wendy commented before the group's performance of "I Don't Care". After Wendy expressed curiosity as to why the members chose to perform the song, MEOVV member Gawon answered: "this song is actually a very special song that opened the world of K-pop to me". "It turns out that all five of our members really, really like the song".
Wendy then expressed, "Honestly, all of 2NE1's albums and songs are songs that influenced all artists to open their love for K-pop," with all MEOVV members very much nodding in agreement. Wendy added, "I really, really love this song too, it's so good". Member Sooin also commented, "We all had many different dreams when we were young, but among them, I think we always had the dream of becoming singers".
