SM Entertainment's contemporary R&B label, KRUCIALIZE, has unveiled its first artist, Min Ji Woon.
On September 20, KRUCIALIZE introduced Min Ji Woon as their debut artist, revealing the digital cover for her debut single, 'Sentimental Love.' The single is set to release on October 4 at 1 PM KST.
Min Ji Woon is a rising R&B singer-songwriter with a captivating voice and exceptional songwriting abilities. Having honed her skills through various collaborations and live performances, she actively participated in the production of his debut single, 'Sentimental Love,' where she showcases her unique musical style and emotions, poised to captivate listeners.
'Sentimental Love' is a medium-tempo R&B/Soul track co-written and co-composed by Min Ji Woon and Canadian producer Cube. The English lyrics reflect Min Ji Woon’s personal philosophy on love, which is expected to resonate well with audiences.
Notably, the song draws inspiration from the legendary hip-hop group Slum Village's track of the same name and jazz saxophonist Bud Shank's 'Elizete.' Min Ji Woon reinterpreted these influences in her own style, blending her distinct vocal tone with a sensuous guitar loop to give the song a vintage charm.
Meanwhile, KRUCIALIZE, derived from the word "crucial" with the suffix "ize," meaning "to make something decisive," is SM's contemporary R&B label that seeks to expand the genre spectrum of K-pop while pursuing differentiated, unique content.
