SHINee's Onew, after leaving SM: "I was surprised at how much money goes into making an album at my new company"
Singer Onew shared his thoughts on releasing a new album after parting ways with SM Entertainment.
On Tuesday the 10th, Onew from SHINee and BOYNEXTDOOR appeared on SBS PowerFM's 'Cultwo Show Escape at 2 PM'.
During the show, special DJ Muji asked Liu, "You came here wearing horn-rimmed glasses. Is there a reason for it?" Liu replied with a laugh, saying, "My stylist really wanted me to wear these. My vision is 1.0, 1.2."
When asked about his connection with BOYNEXTDOOR, Onew shared, "The director who’s been managing BOYNEXTDOOR is currently with me at my new company. That's how we met and started interacting." Muji then joked, "That director seems like a good person. Usually, after leaving a company, you’d be on bad terms." BOYNEXTDOOR chimed in, "He's truly a great person. We developed a bond, and when I meet Onew on set, I feel a strong internal connection, so I even asked him to join a challenge."
Hanhae then mentioned Onew’s return as a solo artist after 18 months, asking him to introduce his new album. Onew explained, "The title track is called 'Attraction', and it’s about how you can be a great person wherever you are if you confidently showcase your charm."
Muji followed up by saying, "You’ve mentioned that your voice is your charm point, but aside from that, what do you think is your most confident charm physically?" Onew responded, "My uvula. I think its development is related to my voice, which is why I find lower tones more comfortable."
Finally, Hanhae asked, "This is your first album after leaving SM and joining a new company. Were there any difficulties?" Onew replied, "I had to oversee and approve a lot of things one by one, which made me realize, 'This is why you spend money. Having professionals handle things is truly invaluable.' I was surprised by how much money went into it."
'Cultwo Show Escape at 2 PM' airs every day from 2 to 4 PM on SBS PowerFM and can also be listened to via the 'SBS GorillA' PC and smartphone application.
