BLACKPINK's dominance is undeniable. Even without having a group comeback for almost two years, the group continues to remain strong on the most important music platforms.
On August 31, it was announced that the music video “Kill This Love” surpassed 2 Billion views on YouTube thanks to its dynamic performances, sophisticated visual effects, and addictive choreography, making it a favorite of audiences around the world. To achieve this recognition, approximately 5 years and 5 months had to pass after its launch on April 5, 2019 and placed BLACKPINK in a league of their own as the First K-pop Arist to have two music videos exceed 2 Billion views on YouTube since the song "DDU-DU DDU-DU" had already surpassed this mark months ago.
Currently, BLACKPINK and PSY are the only Asian Artists that have at least one song exceeding 2 Billion views on YouTube. These songs are "DDU-DU DDU-DU", "Kill This Love" and "Gangnam Style".
Additionally, BLACKPINK has joined Fifth Harmony as the Only Female Groups to have Two Music Videos with over 2 billion views in YouTube history. The mega-hits of each group that achieved this are: "Work from Home" (2.8 Billion views) and "Worth It" (2.2 Billion views) by Fifth Harmony, while "DDU-DU DDU-DU" (2.2 Billion views ) and "Kill This Love" (2 Billion views) come from BLACKPINK.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
