WINNER's Lee Seung Hoon is facing criticism from baseball fans after throwing the first pitch at the Lotte Giants vs. Hanhwa Eagles game on August 28 KST.
On this day, Lee Seung Hoon threw the ceremonial first pitch to cheer on the home team, the Lotte Giants. But before throwing the ball, the singer danced to the chorus of his solo debut title track, "My Type", for approximately 18 seconds on the pitcher's mound.
Afterward, some baseball fans complained about Lee Seung Hoon's "unnecessary performance", calling it a "nuisance". Some even argued that Lee Seung Hoon's footsteps had "kicked up the dirt around the mound" to the point that the pitcher had to pat it down again before the beginning of the game.
Many commented, "What is he doing...", "Yeah this is a bit much", "It's humiliating", "It's not funny, it's not cool, just annoying", "He messed up the mound so the pitcher had to fix it", "If he knew anything about baseball he's know that you do not stomp and slide on a pitching mound like that...", "It looks like the catcher got annoyed toward the end", and more.
Lee Seung Hoon himself shared footage of his first pitch on his Instagram, which you can find below.
