Actress Kim Sae-ron, who has been on a self-imposed hiatus following her DUI controversy, recently stirred attention by posting and then quickly deleting several photos of herself with male co-stars.
On August 7, Kim Sae-ron uploaded multiple photos on her Instagram without any accompanying captions. The images ranged from recent snapshots of herself to scenes from past projects she worked on.
One photo that caught particular attention was from the filming of Netflix's Bloodhounds where she posed alongside co-stars Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi. Although she completed filming for the show, most of her scenes were edited out due to the DUI controversy that arose around the same time. This led to some speculation that the post could be hinting at a potential return to acting.
Another photo featured Kim Sae-ron with actor Lee Jae-wook, taken during the filming of the drama Kiss Sixth Sense. The two were seen sitting together, monitoring their performance on screen.
In the final photo, Kim Sae-ron is seen holding a book, appearing deeply focused and showcasing a more mature visual.
Although Kim Sae-ron did not provide any comments with the photos, the post sparked speculation among fans and the public about whether she is signaling a return to her acting career.
Kim Sae-ron has been under public scrutiny since May 2022, when she caused a drunk driving accident in Gangnam, Seoul, and fled the scene without taking any action. Her blood alcohol level was approximately 0.2%, leading to the cancellation of her driver's license. She was fined 20 million KRW (approximately 15,000 USD) in April of last year and has since been staying out of the public eye.
In April of this year, Kim Sae-ron attempted to make a comeback through the play Dongchimi, but she ultimately withdrew from the production due to public backlash and health issues.
Currently, it is reported that Kim Sae-ron is working as a manager at a café in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
