Young K of the band DAY6 has stepped up to support JYP Entertainment's head, J.Y. Park, as he celebrates his 30th anniversary in the music industry.
On August 14 KST, KBS released a teaser video for the upcoming special, "KBS Grand Project - 30th Anniversary Special Dandara JYP," on both KBS2 and the KBS Kpop YouTube channel.
In the teaser, Young K introduces J.Y. Park’s hit song "Honey." The video shows him playing the song on a CD player, using wired earphones to listen. As the music plays, Young K can be seen enjoying the rhythm, eventually getting up to dance and express his excitement.
This teaser is part of a project where JYP Entertainment artists pay homage to J.Y. Park's legacy and the pride associated with his influence on the Korean music scene. The project highlights the experience of enjoying music in its highest quality through traditional means like CD players and wired earphones, contrasting with today’s digital trends.
Previously, NMIXX's Jiwoo introduced J.Y. Park's "Still Alive," and Stray Kids' Felix featured "Don't Leave Me." Fans are now curious to see which JYP artist will be featured next in this series, showcasing another of J.Y. Park's hit songs.
DAY6, the first band group from JYP Entertainment, debuted in 2015 and has since released numerous hits like "Letting Go," "You Were Beautiful," "Time of Our Life," "Zombie," and "Welcome to The Show." The band will embark on their third world tour, "FOREVER YOUNG," starting in Incheon in September, with stops in cities including Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Surabaya, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, and Manila. Before the tour, DAY6 will release their new mini-album "Band Aid" on September 2, marking their comeback.
The "KBS Grand Project - 30th Anniversary Special Dandara JYP" will be recorded on August 30 at 7 PM KST at KBS Hall. Fans can apply for audience tickets through the show's website until August 22.
