Actress Kim Sae Ron has reportedly taken a job as a café manager instead of returning to acting.
On July 2, a media outlet reported that Kim Sae Ron has recently been employed as a full-time staff member at a café in Seongsu-dong, where she is currently working as a manager.
On May 18, 2022, Kim Sae Ron was involved in a car accident near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where she collided with a guardrail, a tree, and a transformer. She was apprehended by the police after the incident. Although she requested a blood test instead of a breathalyzer, her blood alcohol content was found to be 0.2%, far exceeding the legal limit of 0.08%.
During her period of self-reflection following the accident, Kim Sae Ron faced additional controversies, including accusations of dishonesty. After receiving a fine in her first trial, she returned to the screen four months later by appearing in a music video. She also made an unedited appearance in Netflix's 'Bloodhounds,' indicating a potential comeback.
Kim Sae Ron's attempt to return to the spotlight through the play 'Dongchimi' was halted due to negative public opinion, despite having completed poster shoots. Her decision to step down from the role was inevitable.
Given that Kim Sae Ron had been sustaining herself through acting lessons rather than café part-time jobs, her full-time employment as a café staff member comes as a surprising development.
A close associate of Kim Sae Ron said, "I know that Kim Sae Ron obtained a barista certificate while continuing her acting career, but I haven't heard about her being employed as a full-time café staff member."
